I think this year I'll make a resolution to start querying. I must also make a resolution to prepare myself for the inevitable rejection.

I did a lot of querying about eight years ago. I got a lot of rejections but after I got over myself I realized that all my stuff needed lots of work. It still needs work but at some point I have to toss it and see if it sticks.

But I started off my new year by trying to learn something new. I took a pottery lesson. I learned how to throw clay on a wheel. I have a new deep and profound respect for the person who threw the turtle mug I got for Christmas.

For two pounds of clay I have a very small bowl and cup thing. Or maybe two bowl things, I'm not sure. Pictures only after they've been fired and maybe glazed. Maybe.

What I should really do is cover them with macaroni and glitter and give them to my parents.
